These instructions are for schools who would like to install ActivEngage Client on a master image computer and then deploy that image onto other machines.

  • Install ActivEngage Client per the defaults
  • Open ActivEngage Client and connect to all virtual hubs on your network
  • For Macs -
    • Copy the file "~/.config/Promethean/PersonalClassroomServerList.ini" - configuration settings.
    • Delete the file "/Users/<username>/.config/Promethean/ActivEngageClient.ini"
  • For PC's -
    • Copy the file "Users Directory\AppData\Roaming\Promethean\virtualhubs.ini - configuration settings.
    • Delete the file Users Directory/AppData/Roaming/Promethean/ActivEngageClient.ini
  • Verify on the .ini file that is being pushed during installation that the Everyone/Everbody has Read and Write permissions to that file.
  • The .ini file should be saved to the server.  Later down the line if you need to deploy/change any virtual hubs you can update the master file stored on the server and push a copy of that file to the correct location on each client.
