As of March 2011 version 4.2.X here are the system requirements for Safari Montage Media Player (SMMP).
For 90% of all users all that is needed is the latest version of QuickTime and the installation of the Safari Montage Media Player (SMMP). See instructions below for QuickTime and SMMP installation. Please do this first before trying to watch videos.

Browser Plug-ins – all platforms
- Apple QuickTime 7.6.
- On a PC please visit http://www.apple.com/quicktime to download and install the latest version of QuickTime.
- On a Mac go to Apple Symbol > Software Update. Install any QuickTime updates.
- Safari Montage Media Player (SMMP)
- After you log into Safari Montage it will prompt you to download and install the SMMP.
- Install per the defaults
- Restart your broswer
